Andrew Rickert, Boys' Team Coach

Andrew Rickert is a USATF level II certified coach entering his 8th season as the Boys' Head XC coach. Coach Rickert previously spent 14 years coaching track and cross country at The College of Saint Rose where he led two women’s teams to the NCAA Division II Cross Country championships. He was named the 2010 USTFCCCA East Region Division II Coach of the Year. He also helped guide multiple conference champions in events ranging from the 800m to 10,000m. A former stand-out for rival Guilderland, Coach Rickert teaches English at BCHS and is a member of the Lab School program. Coach Rickert competed for four years at UAlbany and continues to train and compete as a master’s runner with the Wild Rovers racing team. In the winter, Coach Rickert assists the indoor track team’s distance group. A lover of Dave Matthews Band and the NY Mets, he and his wife live in Slingerlands with their three young sons.

John and Kari Deer live in Slingerlands with their two children who also run for the Bethlehem Eagles. For the past several years, they have been the Delmar Track and Field Club head coaches for both the fall cross country and spring track seasons. John and Kari coach the modified cross country and track and field teams here at Bethlehem. John teaches history at Bethlehem Central High School and Kari teaches second grade at Red Mill Elementary School in the East Greenbush Central School District. They are both on the USATF Adirondack Board and are active in the planning of youth and adult races and events in the region. John runs competitively for the Wild Rovers Racing Team and Kari races for the Willow Street Athletic Club, which are both elite racing teams in the Capital Region. You can spot us running around the town we love doing what we love most!
