• 9/3/10 - Handouts from Meet the Coaches Night on Thursday, Sept. 2 at BCHS include: Boys-XC general info, Boys-XC mission & philosophy, Boys-XC balance & core exercises, Boys-XC September schedule, Order form 2010 XC team jacket, Girls-XC general info, and Girls-XC schedule. Also, Coach Ayers indicated "Code of Conducts" will be given out at tomorrows practice and need to be signed by both athlete and parent and returned ASAP to the Coaches. Coach Rightmyer reported there are currently 75 girls out for XC. He said it may take a couple meets to determine who would run at Great American or Grout Meets. Preliminary indications are that Great American Meet will cost about $250 per runner including air & hotel. Girls-XC parents, please contact Mrs. Luke if you are willing to host a pasta party. A sign-up sheet was distributed for "Home Meet Volunteers" for Tuesday, Sept. 21 at 4 p.m., or email Pete deVries.
  
  
• 8/30/10 - Meet the Coaches Night is Thursday, Sept. 2 at 6:30 p.m. at BCHS. The Suburban Council XC Meet Schedule is here, but Bethlehem boys & girls schedules will also include selected Invitational Meets.
  
  
• 8/28/10 - The Cross-Country Pancake Breakfast Fundraiser held on Aug. 28th at Applebee's in Glenmont was a great success! Thank you to the parent volunteers and over thirty student/athletes (pic1, pic2) who helped serve nearly 180 guests. We also extend our sincerest thanks to Applebee's for providing the opportunity to contribute to our sports programs' success in a significant way!
  
  
• 8/19/10 - BCHS Cross-Country Team's will meet on Monday, August 23rd at BCHS Track -- Boy's 8 am (info), Girl's 9 am. Have you turned in the completed and signed (by parent/guardian) BCSD Sports Update Form that you received this summer in a mailing from the BCHS Athletic Department?
  
  
• 8/16/10 - Cross-Country Pancake Breakfast Fundraiser on Aug. 28 at Applebee's from 8am-10am on Saturday, August 28th. Tickets cost $5/each and availability is limited. Please contact either Gina Luke or Seth Denning for more information. (Volunteers: Anyone interested in helping make this event a success please contact Gina or Seth.)
  
  
• 8/14/10 - Fleet Feet Sports Albany holds its 2nd Annual Saucony Spike Weekend -- Aug. 28-29

  Fleet Feet will be offering a special 10% discount on Saucony spikes, a short sleeve technical running shirt with any Saucony spike purchase, as well as music and refreshments all weekend long.

• 7/16/10 - Attention BCHS XC runners – An application will be submitted to the Board of Ed for top jv & varsity boys and girls cross-country runners to attend the Great American Meet in Cary, North Carolina on Saturday, Oct. 2nd, 2010.

THE KIDS NEED YOU!

There are various ways parents can help, and we invite you to get involved:

Join the Booster Club. The Bethlehem Central Cross Country and Track and Field Booster Club (Delmar, NY) brings parents together to help with meets and to raise money for items not included in the normal school athletics budget. Support raised by the club has helped purchase a race clock, race timers, meet scoring software, team tents, and covered other expenses such as entry fees and bus transportation for meets, awards, and hosting fees for this web site. Booster Club dues are currently $25 per family per year. Members receive a discount on the cost of end-of-season family dinners. To join, please mail-in the Booster Club Membership Form (a PDF file, in Adobe Acrobat format).
